How the End of the World is a Healing Catalyst

2020 was a bold messenger that held no punches. It jolted us from our slumber to unprecedented levels of unfamiliarity. It was literally the end of the world as we know it. 

The majority experienced this as an overwhelming negative thing. Alternatively, some of us experienced our best year yet. How could we all be living on the same planet yet experience such varying realities? It boils down to either feeling the longing for the old systems and way things were, or the feeling of relief that these systems were actually collapsing. 

Is this the Apocalypse?

Apocalypse literally means “unveiling” or “revelation”. It is about the disclosure of Great Knowledge previously hidden. Is it actually really about the end of the world? Well, depends on how you look at it. It is the end of the world as we know it. But, the beginning of a whole new world. A new reality. And what that looks like deeply depends on how we respond.

There have been two major camps this year. Those still waiting to be told what to do next, and those who are questioning it all and doing their best to discern what is truly right and safe for themselves. Within that second camp, many people are actually excited. They see what looks like chaos to many as an incredible opportunity for a needed major shift. An opportunity for us to create a more balanced, grounded, and peaceful way of being here on this abundant, miraculous planet. 

That’s not to say there won’t be strife or major upheaval. That is a major, inherent component of awakenings – both individually and collectively. The old is cleared out or destroyed to make room for the new.

Destruction of the Old

Adyashanti said “Enlightenment is a destructive process. It has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier. Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth. It’s seeing through the facade of pretense. It’s the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true.” 

We are transitioning into a time where the oppressive systems of control are ripping at the seems. That world is ending, at least the one we knew. If we open our eyes, we can see easier than ever before what is actually behind the veil. For many, this process is revealing a surprisingly hideous creature that really has nothing to stand on. A creature that is actually fictitious, yet has scared so many into believing that obedience is a virtue. 

The Age of Aquarius

We’ve been hearing about the Age of Aquarius for decades now. This age serves to shift us out of the oppressive systems of control and more into our own inner guidance systems. Consider asking yourself where you try to control things or even others? Do you listen to your gut and trust your intuition? The more you examine these questions and do the inner work, the smoother life will be. And, the more of us that do this, the more balance and peace we’ll experience with each other, collectively shifting the experience here on earth.

But, this change is so much bigger than humanity and anything we can imagine. Though humans like to try to control things, we cannot control the stars and how our experience here on earth is integrally connected to them. When we work in alignment with the cosmic cycles and energies, we may find a new balanced way of being. 

The World is Cleansing

With this unprecedented potent energy, comes a cleansing of everyone on earth, including Earth herself. It’s about embracing the winds of change and utilizing these powerful energies that are transforming us all. These new energies that we all undeniably felt throughout 2020. They are purifying us on all levels – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Wounds that we didn’t tend to are coming up to be seen and healed. And, healing is happening at a much quicker pace as a result of it all. 

However, when we resist what comes up, we continue to suffer and prevent these new, upgraded energies from easily flowing through us. We cannot fight what is bigger than humanity. I mean, sure, we can try and many are. But that resistance will create deeper layers of suffering and pain. 

I realize that many have been deeply conditioned and wounded. And that most people don’t even know where to begin. This can make the healing journey overwhelmingly daunting. But, this is one reason so many healers, like myself, are being called to step up and share the tools and wisdom they’ve been blessed with. 

When more of us do that inner work of healing ourselves, not only do we see precious rewards in our own lives, but we shift the trajectory of the planet and humanity. When we become responsible for our own actions and emotions and honor the free will of others, the human experience changes for the better. The end of the world is an opportunity to create a whole new one.
